So much to do and so much history
These row houses just make us smile. There is something about the detail and the love that the folks who choose to live in Old Town pour into the facades of their homes. From the stoops with their topiaries and the immaculately kept wrought iron grates and stairs to the original leaded glass windows and gas lanterns, Old Town is so rich with history and grace. Iconic and beautiful, Old Town is not stodgy and stuffy. You might think that a place that is so incredibly packed with history would be rampant with a fine baked upper-crust feel, but it still has life in her yet! From the lovely local shops and five star restaurants, chocolatiers and coffee houses that line the streets, Old Town has a richness and yet a flavor that attracts all kinds of diversity and joy. You will be delighted by Old Town Alexandria. The main website for Visit Alexandria even says "A beautifully-preserved historic district on the Potomac River, Old Town Alexandria is the heart of the city that George Washington called home. Today Old Town’s cobblestone streets and red brick sidewalks hum with an energy that attracts everyone from presidents to pet lovers to some of the city’s best restaurants, arts events, shopping and historic attractions." We agree.
